When you think about the way most people use search engines, you realize that a lot of people are looking for answers to problems that concern them. This means that the majority of what people enter in a search bar is some kind of question. Google knows about these habits and has adapted their algorithm to account for many of the questions their users commonly ask.
Google’s algorithms are on the lookout for sites that offer information that answers a specific query. The better the information your answer provides, the more likely your site will show up when that search is made. The question you should be asking yourself is “how do I optimize the content on my site for these questions?”
There are Different Types of Questions
When optimizing the content of your site, you need to take into account the different types of questions people ask. There are basic questions like “what is an arm lift” that have simple and short answers. There are also more complex questions that require longer and more specific answers.
Make sure that your site contains content that caters to certain types of questions. This can be done in a variety of ways. You can have a page that provides general information that also links to pages that focus on specific aspects of a treatment or procedure. Another option is to have a Q&A section for different procedures. This section will allow you to cover and provide an answer for a variety of questions.
Research is Key
People aren’t always asking the same questions. Trends and interests change multiple times throughout the year, so it should be no surprise that the questions people search for change throughout the year as well. How do you keep up?
Take the time to do a little research every now and then. You can search through social media sites to learn about what’s trending and what questions people are asking. You can also take advantage of thing’s like Google’s autocomplete function. The part of the question that Google fills in are the result of which searches are the most popular. You can also try rewording the same question to see how the top answers change as well.
You need to understand that optimizing your content is not a one-time thing. The key to running a successful site is to remain current and to adapt to the various changes that can occur in an instant. Fortunately, there are tools out there that you can use to stay competitive and remain up to date. We’ll be going over which tools you can use in a future blog.
